Yes, Learn 2 Drive Academy functions as a state-endorsed Third-Party Skills Testing (TPST) Center fully certified by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). We conduct the exact same official driving assessment provided at the DPS location, and it carries the exact same weight toward securing your driver’s license.

Definitely. We offer specific packages that give you the ability to rent our updated, comprehensively insured, and test-prepared educational vehicles for your exam. This entirely removes the stress of needing to pass stringent vehicle safety inspections with your own personal car.

If you decide to bring your personal vehicle, it is required to pass a fundamental pre-test safety evaluation conducted by our examiner. The automobile must feature active registration, valid corresponding auto insurance, totally operational brake lights, functional turn indicators, an audible horn, secure seat belts, correctly positioned mirrors, working doors, a pristine windshield completely free of cracks that impede sightlines, and tires in safe condition.

Throughout the roughly 20-minute practical drive, our certified evaluators assess fluid vehicle handling (such as steering, acceleration, and braking), proper intersection procedures, right-of-way recognition, accurate signaling, and the regular use of mirrors combined with physical “head checks” to monitor blind spots. You will additionally be evaluated on your ability to parallel park and execute straight-line reversing for a distance of approximately 50 feet.

The moment you pass, our authorized examiner supplies you with direct feedback on your score and provides you with the official sealed DPS certification paperwork. You will personally transport this sealed envelope straight to your regional DPS facility to finalize processing and have your physical hard-card license created without needing to complete any further driving assessments.
